About Impact Security, LLC

Impact Security LLC is at the forefront of designing and engineering advanced security glazing and building product solutions that seamlessly integrate into architectural designs. Our patented DefenseLite®, BulletShield, and RiotLite systems provide an innovative, retrofit approach to fortifying glass doors, curtain walls, and vision glass—enhancing safety without compromising aesthetics. These solutions, along with Impact’s bullet resistant wall panels, transaction windows, doors and related building products, are engineered to mitigate risks associated with forced entry, ballistic threats, and smash-and-grab crimes, ensuring 24/7 protection for occupants and assets.

With a nationwide network of Certified Dealers, building owners, GC’s and architects have direct access to Impact’s comprehensive product portfolio, simplifying the specification and implementation process. As security challenges evolve, so do our solutions—continually advancing to meet new levels of forced entry and ballistic protection while maintaining design integrity.

As an AIA Continuing Education Provider, Impact Security empowers architects with the knowledge to specify the right security glazing solutions based on project scope, glazing system requirements, and real-world threat assessments. Our expertise ensures that security is seamlessly integrated into design—striking the balance between performance, aesthetics, and budget-conscious solutions.

Managing Partner
Mark Mineer leads Impact Security’s product strategy, manufacturing, and market execution for DefenseLite® , BulletShield™ and related building security systems. He brings decades of experience advancing forced-entry and ballistic-mitigation technologies for schools, government facilities, retail, and other high-risk building environments.

Previously, Mark served as President and CEO of MTI Shield, where he oversaw the development and large-scale deployment of retrofit glazing systems designed to delay intrusion, mitigate ballistic threats, and provide critical response time during active-shooter events. His work has been implemented across thousands of protected openings nationwide.

Mark’s expertise spans product engineering, certified system design, and commercial-scale manufacturing—bridging the gap between security performance and architectural practicality. Under his leadership, Impact Security delivers protective glazing solutions that meet the realities of modern building design without requiring full window replacement.

Mark brings a performance-driven, real-world perspective to Impact Security’s mission: helping architects, owners, and security professionals design safer, more resilient buildings.

About Defenselite

DefenseLite® is a patented forced-entry security glazing system manufactured by Impact Security and has secured thousands of glazed openings across the US. This retrofit security shield is designed to mount onto the existing glazing, creating unmatched protection against smash-and-grab crime. DefenseLite transforms windows and doors into impenetrable openings that are 250 times stronger than glass alone. DefenseLite is NOT an applied security film, but rather a heavy gauge architectural grade polycarbonate shield and extruded framing system designed to keep intruders out. The surface of the polycarbonate is UV coated to protect against degradation and the systems can be warranted up to 15 years. Scratching, graffiti and other factors that may result in damage of the material are mitigated by our proprietary sacrificial laminated coating that protects the surface of the DefenseLite shield. DefenseLite’s patent pending “Moore Venting System” prevents moisture and condensation buildup prevalent in competing over-glaze systems.

About Bulletshield

As the bullet-resistant derivative of DefenseLite, BulletShield is independently tested to meet UL 752 ballistic ratings, preventing breach of glazing systems against assault from handguns and assault rifles. BulletShield can be installed over your existing glass from the interior or exterior depending on existing glazing and site conditions. With certified dealers and installation teams in every major city, architects, general contractors, building owners and specifiers can be confident of the ease of access anywhere in the United States.
