Glass doors, windows, and storefronts are among the most vulnerable points of entry in the building envelope.
With incidents of riots, smash-and-grab crime, forced entry, and active shooter threats on the rise, the need for security glazing is greater than ever.
This AIA-approved continuing education course will provide an in-depth understanding of physical security needs for the built environment and define what performance standards must be met by threat-mitigation products used to protect existing storefronts and building glazing.
Participants will explore a new generation of clear, retrofit security “overglaze” systems utilizing heavy-gauge, architectural-grade polycarbonate and extruded framing designed to resist forced entry and ballistic attacks.
